I must admit, while I’ve taken some time and played Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the game had its overwhelmingly awesome features and it had some downfalls. The multi-player aspect of each of the Bad Company games left much to be desired. While these games were always graphically pleasing and had a decent enough storyline and fast paced action, they fell short as far as the community and online game play were concerned.

Even though we’ve got a little less than 20 seconds of actual game play footage and “flashes” of excellently realistic graphics, it seems the reputation of the BC series being a flop on consoles may finally be overcome. The graphics look more realistic than any FPS I’ve seen as of yet, and the Trent Rezonor Nine Inch Nails’esque score seem like this game (properly adapted to console) may be one for the clan to pick up.

A reliable source, John Riccitiello, CEO Of Electronic Arts stated in a 2010 interview that BF3 would be released in the Second Half of 2011. He also stated that we can expect more info arriving in the coming months.

Beachhead Studios has been announced by game publisher Activison Blizzard. The studio will lead the production for online Call of Duty content. Their exclusive online content promises to “super charge the online experience.” The studio will focus “on the delivery, digitally, of new, innovative Call of Duty content and services will enable tens of millions of players around the world to continue to enjoy the experience that Call of Duty offers.” Activision is “not yet ready” to discuss what that means or give up any more information.

Today, Activision-Blizzard carried out their fourth quarter earnings call, sharing their profitability with investors and plans for the future. As expected, Call of Duty was brought up many times as it is one of the publishers most prominent resources and they plan to support it in many ways over the coming days.

As expected, Activision announced a ‘blockbuster release’ for Call of Duty is scheduled for an Autumn release. While we are anticipating that the ‘blockbuster release’ can be translated to, ‘Modern Warfare 3′; we aren’t counting our chickens before they hatch. Judging by Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops’ release schedule, we should expect more news on 2011′s Call of Duty in the coming two months or so.

One of the exciting new ventures that Activision spoke of was ‘Project Beachhead’, a way to support online content with in-game interaction. There were mentions of ‘a lot of services’ and many community elements being included. We’re unsure at this time the type of pricetag that will be associated with Project Beachhead, as Activision has plans for a big announcement at a later point this year.
